From Monday, August 5 to Friday, August 18, 2024, “Let’s Make Gakchika! 2024 Summer International Cooperation Experience Program” (14 days) was held in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan under the auspices of the Kyrgyz Republic-Japan Center for Human Resources Development (KRJC). 20 students from 9 universities in Japan participated in the program, including one second-year undergraduate student from Tsukuba University.
The theme of this program is “2024 Summer Kazakhstan-Kyrgyz Republic Joint Central Asian Silk Road Study Tour, discoveries under the Eternal Tian Shan – Turism Studies, International Cooperation and Volunteer Activities”. The program is set in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, which are located at key points on the Eurasian Silk Road and have nomadic, multi-ethnic cultures and abundant tourism resources, and aims to provide Japanese students with a global experience through tourism studies, site visits to international cooperation, and practical experience as international volunteers. This program was implemented as a 2-credit course called “Overseas Project Training (Russian-speaking countries)” during the summer vacation period.
