NipCA Fellowship Programs

The NipCA Project aims to educate young professionals who can actively contribute to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the Eurasian region (Central Asia and Azerbaijan).

Currently, the project offers fellowships to applicants for master’s programs in two special fields on a competitive basis: 1) Special Program in Japanese and Eurasian Studies (SPJES), which is a part of  Master’s Program in International Public Policy (IPP) (Degree Programs in Humanities and Social Sciences, Graduate School of Business Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences), and 2) Master’s Program in Public Health (MPH)  (Graduate School of Comprehensive Human Sciences).

Applicants from the nationals of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Georgia are welcome to apply for the fellowship. See details of eligibility and schedule in the guidelines below. Those applicants who demonstrate outstanding abilities will be awarded full scholarships from the Nippon Foundation.

 

1) Special Program in Japanese and Eurasian Studies (SPJES), Master’s Program in International Public Policy (IPP)

Application period (2024 Fall admission):  Nov. 6, 2023 ~ Jan. 15, 2024, 23:59 (JST)
* Applications for admission in Fall  2024 are now closed.
* Any submission received outside of the application period will be disqualified.  

The program consists of a 1.5-year Master’s Program.

2) Master’s Program in Public Health (MPH)

Application period (2025 Spring Admission): May 15, 2024 ~ June 30, 2024, 23:59 (JST)
* Applications for admission in Spring 2025 are now closed.
* Any submission received outside of the application period will be disqualified.

The program consists of a 2-year Master’s Program. Students study not only experts of public health, but also experts of basic and clinical medicine and thus develop a comprehensive view.
