On Friday, October 30, 2020, sponsored by Global Commons “University of Tsukuba Autumn Study Abroad Fair (IMAGINE THE FUTURE study abroad!)” took place. As a part of this, a study abroad debriefing session by AY 2019 students from Russia, Poland and Kazakhstan language training was held. Every year, study abroad fair is held with booths in University of Tsukuba University Hall. However, this year, it was held online using Zoom, considering the circumstances in which corona is not yet converging.

First, there were 4 reports of international student exchanges to Russia and Poland and each of them showed slides showing what they learned and what their daily life was like during their study abroad. Three students to Russia studied abroad at different parts of Moscow, Petersburg, and Novosibirsk, so the reporters’ story took on, richly in regional colors.

Then, participants from the Kazakhstan language training Program held from Monday, February 17, 2020 to Monday, March 14, 2020, reported about the one-month course on the activities of the language training. There were reports on classes and fieldwork experiences at the School of Preparatory Studies in Kazakh National University, and they showed the fact that students were active in the field while on short-term stay.

After the reports, Q & A session was held, and students who studied abroad long-term talked about growth through study abroad. The impression that they want to spread a good image of the country they studied abroad to Japan was also heard. Finally, there was a greeting from Ms. Adachi, Head of Global Commons, and she sent a warm message to students wishing to study abroad in the future. We were able to hear valuable presentations of those who studied abroad and trained in various regions, and this debriefing session was very meaningful.

The video of the debriefing session was available until Friday, November 30, in the Teams channel “Autumn Study Abroad Fair” as “AY 2019 Study Abroad debriefing sessions by dispatched students (Russia, NIS countries, etc.)”.
