I am very glad to introduce myself. I am Akramova Lola, an MA student studying International Public Policy at the SPJES program at the University of TSUKUBA. I am from Tashkent, but originally, I am from Nurata (Navoi region), Uzbekistan
My background: I have a BA in Economics from Webster University in Tashkent. During my studies in 2nd year, I worked as a teacher’s assistant for 2nd grade at Oxbridge International School. That is when I felt passionate about educating and enlightening students. After that, I taught at a learning center called Gayrat Academy. Also, I worked at the Institute of Advanced International Studies under the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.
My field of interest: Higher Education. To be specific I am focusing on proper management and faculty training of the higher education system in Uzbekistan. The reason for this is that I believe that the world is transforming and the Uzbek higher education system should keep pace with internationalization. I am honored to be a student of SPJES program because this program allows us to broaden our knowledge of Sustainable development goals. I am eager to study and get the best of my time in Japan. Moreover, this program gives us a chance to widen our horizons by building a network that may be useful for personal and professional development. I am keen on cultural exchange and that is a suitable place for that.
About the future: Well, the motto of the University of Tsukuba is to IMAGINE THE FUTURE but we not only imagine it but WORK ON IT. I am excited about the opportunities I will have during and after my studies in the SPJES program. I will do my best to contribute to the cultural exchange of Japan-Uzbekistan. I hope to provide benefits for the well-being of my country specifically in the field of Higher Education.
