On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Kyoko Vrboski, President of the Japan-Central Asia Friendship Association (JACAFA), Vrboski Saso, CEO, and four alumni (two from Azerbaijan, one from Uzbekistan, and one from Tajikistan) visited the University of Tsukuba to tour facilities and hold an exchange forum.
In the morning, the students joined NipCA staff for a tour of the Empower Studio and Plasma Research Center on the University’s campus. In the afternoon, the “Japan Eurasia Exchange Forum: Human Resource Development and Innovation in Eurasia” was held by the Nippon Foundation and JACAFA. The forum featured presentations on their research topics by four JACAFA alumni and Ms. Tursunalieva Azhar, a 5th NipCA Fellow, and a lively discussion ensued.
Finally, a reception was held at the Tsukuba Demi on campus. We hope that through by continuing the collaboration among students from Central Asia supported by this project, an organic network will be built that will further contribute to solving social issues in the Central Asian region in the future.
Topics held at the forum included
1.”Sustainability and inclusiveness: contribution of farmers’ knowledge in water management and agricultural development in Kazakhstan” Azhar Tursynaliyeva (Kazakhstan, NipCA Fellow 2023 University of Tsukuba)
