FY2024 short-term Kazakh language training course (28 days) was held from Sunday, August 11 to Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a CiC partner university in Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan. Two students, one second-year student and one fourth-year student, participated in the event.
This training course was jointly developed as a special optional course called “Overseas Language Training Kazakh Language” (3 credits) by our university’s Global Communication Education Center and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, our Campus-in-Campus (CiC) partner institution. During the month-long training, the participants were able to learn not only the Kazakh language, but also Kazakhstan’s culture and history through hands-on experience. In addition, the deep interactions that took place in everyday life with other students and their host families also helped greatly to improve their Kazakh language skills and their ability to express themselves.
