On Thursday, September 22, 2022, the second NipCA Fellow Graduation Ceremony was held.

Seven students who had enrolled in the Special Program in Japanese and Eurasian Studies (SPJES) in 2020 and successfully completed the entire program were awarded their master’s degrees by Professor Usuyama, the NipCA Project Director.

Ms. Rajabova Manizha was honored with the Best Thesis Award for her work titled “From Brain Drain to Brain Gain: Motivations of Tajik Students to Return Home,” while the Outstanding Thesis Award was bestowed upon Ms. Mukhamejanova Aizhan for her paper “The Experience of Female Repatriation in Kazakhstan: A Case Study of the Mangystau Region”.

As NipCA Fellows embark on the next phase of their careers, we anticipate for them to become the next generation of leaders who will drive the development and prosperity of their home countries and the world at large.
