My name is Daniya Yarullina. I’m from Astana, the new capital of Kazakhstan, but I was born and raised in a small northern town called Kostanay.
I graduated from Nazarbayev University with a degree in Political Science and International Relations. During my studies, I actively participated in various events and forums, including being selected as a delegate from Kazakhstan to the Fourth Government-Youth Dialogue during the annual meeting of UNRCCA Deputy Foreign Ministers of Central Asian States in Turkmenistan. I also gave a speech about women’s rights to UN Women staff and civil society during the “Generation Equality” consultation and “Beijing +30: Commitments and Actions, Progress and Challenges Ahead.” My interest in women’s rights is also reflected in my thesis, which will examine the UN’s work in promoting women’s rights in Kazakhstan. I hope that after my studies at university, I will be able to achieve my goal and become part of this international organization.
