The JICA Chair (Japan’s Intensive Lecture Series on International Development and Diplomacy and Research Methodology) took place from Monday, February 19 to Thursday, February 22, 2024. This event was organized in cooperation with the International Japanese Studies Degree Program and the NipCA Project at the University of Tsukuba.

The workshop featured distinguished attendees including Mr. Safaev, President of the University of World Economy and Diplomacy; Mr. Takashi Hatori, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan; Mr. Yoshifumi Oto, Director of the JICA Uzbekistan Office; and Professor Dadabaev Timur, a cooperating faculty member from the NipCA project.

During the workshop, students from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy presented reports on Japan’s economic development, foreign policy, and academic research methodologies. The event was highly interactive, with many comments and questions from the participating students. On the final day, certificates were awarded to students, recognizing their completion of the workshop.

Overall, the workshop was a fruitful and informative event, symbolizing the close relationship between Japan and Uzbekistan.
