Hi there! I am Aidana Assykpayeva from Kazakhstan.
In 2017, I earned a bachelor’s degree in law and since then, have worked for organizations such as Penal Reform International and UNICEF Kazakhstan. I have been involved in designing and leading initiatives to support vulnerable groups in Central Asian countries and in establishing partnerships with various stakeholders to support and promote human-rights activities. I have also provided consultancy support to intergovernmental organizations and local civil society actors in the region, including on matters such as resource mobilization, monitoring and
evaluation of human-rights programs, effective partnerships and more.
While my work has contributed to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals in Central Asia, I have not had the opportunity to fully explore the SDGs in detail. I understand how important it is to continuously expand knowledge and strengthen expertise in my professional field, and I believe that obtaining an advanced academic degree is a crucial step if I want to broaden my career opportunities. I see SPJES as a gateway to not only enhance research and critical thinking skills and learn new approaches but also contribute positively by sharing my experience and expertise, challenging myself within a new academic environment.
