I come from mountainous Tajikistan, which is in the south part of Central Asia. I hold my bachelor’s degree from American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, majoring in International and Comparative Politics and minoring Human Rights. Currently, I am having a keen interest in gender, migration and development studies; one would like to focus on women empowerment and emancipation in Tajikistan. Therefore, my academic research analyzes the current understanding of the role of women in Tajik society, and what are the main factors of women disempowerment in Tajikistan. Studying at one of the best universities of Japan in this program oriented special for Central Eurasian Studies, it will allow me to enhance my knowledge in the region and develop my research skills, crucial for my future career.
