On Thursday, November 26, 2020, His Excellency Mr. Fazilov Ganievich Gayrat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan, visited University of Tsukuba and discussed with President Dr. Nagata Kyosuke of University of Tsukuba, Vice President Dr. Benton Caroline, Mr. Suzuki Hiroyuki, Head of Office of Global Initiatives, Associate Professor Dr. Yamamoto Yukiko, and Coordinator and UIA Dr. Kajiyama Yuji.

During the discussion, the possibility of future exchange between universities in Uzbekistan and Japan was discussed, and it was confirmed that the two countries will continue to build a cooperative relationship. The University of Tsukuba has concluded exchange agreements with renowned universities in Uzbekistan, such as Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies and University of World Economy and Diplomacy, and has exchanged students for a long time. It is hoped that this visit will serve as an opportunity to further strengthen the ties between Uzbekistan and University of Tsukuba.
